What’s your favourite sport? Football? Basketball? Archery? Or maybe something brand new that’s never been played before? On this Makers Lab mission, you’ll become both an athlete and an inventor, dreaming up, designing, and building your own equipment for action-packed challenges.
Your week kicks off with a team huddle where you’ll share ideas and discover how sports equipment really works. How does an archer’s arrow fly straight through the air? Why does a basketball bounce? What makes a goal strong enough to survive an entire match? You’ll sketch your ideas, plan your designs, and test mini models before building the real thing.
Then it’s hands-on making time! Using lots of different materials and tools, you’ll build Olympic-style equipment like bats, balls, rackets, hoops, nets, and goalposts. You’ll learn how to shape, balance, join, and build safely - all while testing and improving your gear like a true champion.
The week finishes with the ultimate Olympic Challenge!
Teams go head-to-head in exciting games and races using the equipment they created. Will your arrow fly the farthest? Will your ball score the winning goal? Will your invention survive the heat of competition? These aren’t just models - they’re to be put to the test in real Olympic-style events!
This mission is in development. The full itinerary will be available in February 2026.
Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.
