Taking inspiration from the wild and bright world of the funfair, your mission is to delve deep into your imagination to create the ultimate fairground! Working in a team of Fairground Designers, you’ll get to imagine, design, test and build your own carnival style games and then play your favourite until the absolute best is created!
You’ll learn all about game design and mechanics, by experimenting with shooting contraptions, cog based turning wheels and claw machines. You’ll have to think about shapes and materials, gravity, trigger and rotation. How will your game move? What will make it exciting to play? How daring will it be?
Once your concept is complete, you’ll have to build a prototype of your game, ready for testing. Only then will you discover what fairground testing involves….. Basically, it’s the best type of testing in the world! After lots of testing, you’ll get to build the final game, just in time for the opening of The Hive’s very first Funfair. Time for your family and friends to play the teams’ ultimate games!
Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.
