A full day nursery session (9am - 3.30pm) costs £75.
Half-days (9am-12pm / 12.30pm - 3.30pm) cost £40.
Days are booked by the term and payable a term in advance.
We're open 45 weeks per year. Click here to see when the nursery is closed.
We don't offer extended hours at the moment, but this may change as the nursery grows.
Please fill in our registration form to request a place for your child at The Hive. Once we have received your request, we will contact you as soon as possible with confirmation details.
We require a deposit of £150 to secure your child a place (to be paid before the commencement date). We also require a minimum of 1 session a week to ensure continuity for the children and to ensure they get the most out of their forest school experience.

Since April 2024, working parents of 2 year-olds can access up to 570 hours of government funded childcare, provided that they meet certain eligibility criteria. This funding can be applied across the school terms (38 weeks per year) or stretched to cover a longer period of the year (45 weeks per year). For more information and to apply for your eligibility code, please see the government Childcare Choices website. Eligibility for 2 year-olds is as follows:

All 3 and 4 year old children can access up to 570 hours of government funded childcare. This funding can be applied across the school terms (38 weeks per year) or stretched to cover a longer period of the year (45 weeks per year). Eligibility for 3 year-olds is as follows:

The Hive offers 570 hours of government funded childcare per eligible parent, but as this funding does not cover all costs incurred by a setting such as ours (expert Forest School qualifications, specialist equipment, 1 to 4 ratio and challenging "risky play" activities which require highly qualified staff), they allow providers to charge a small additional fee for this, an ‘Enhanced Provision Rate’. Due to the unique nature of our Forest School offering, we have no choice but to charge this small fee, or we wouldn't be able to cover our costs. Our EPR is £4 per funded hour.
In addition, we also offer two free-at-the-point-of-access places where we as a business cover all the costs not funded by the government. These are intended for families in need to ensure there are no barriers to accessing our high-quality Forest School education offer.
The table details both our full rate fees and our EPR fees, so parents can easily see the difference. The government scheme is complex however, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any question or if you require further information. Please email nursery@thehive-kids.com or call 020 3435 6848 and we'll be happy to help:)
The government offers up to 570 hours per year for 38 weeks. As The Hive runs for 585 hours per year (13 hours per week, 45 weeks per year), there is a small additional charge of £172.50 per child per year for parents making use of our full 585 hours of provision (in order to cover the 15 hours not covered by government funding).
Tax-free childcare vouchers are a cost effective way for working parents to pay for their child's nursery fees. The Hive is registered with most childcare voucher providers in the UK. We can also add a new provider within 48 hours of registration. Just mention this to the team at registration.
The Hive is registered to receive payment through the government's Tax-Free Childcare scheme. To pay this way, you just need to sign in to your government account and look for The Hive in the list of providers.
