Travel the world through your tastebuds and put your culinary skills to the test with this mission packed full of challenges, games, and delicious food! During the week you’ll learn how to make signature dishes from different countries around the world, moving from Japan to Ethiopia, Lebanon to Italy, with a pitstop in Spain. Each day you’ll discover new ingredients, new recipes and new cooking methods. As you get to grips with the origins of different foods, you’ll experiment with herbs, fruits and plants to give your creations a fresh twist. You’ll have the opportunity to compete in daily challenges and find out who will go home with the winning prize, and who’ll end up with the wooden spoon! Learn how to make sushi, cook injera over the fire, and whip up a batch of gnocchi, and for something a bit sweeter try your hand at making Spanish churros and real Italian tiramisu.
Can you impress the judges with your speedy cooking? How inventive can you get with your ingredients? Have you got what it takes to be crowned Top Chef? It all hangs on a knife edge as you learn how to cook up a storm and compete with your fellow rivals…with delicious results!
Knife Edge uses the same recipes as The IncrEdibles mission, but we’ve turned up the heat to offer the more experienced chefs among you the opportunity to take it to the next level.

Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.

RECOMMENDED AGE RANGE
11 - 13 (Years 6 - 8)
Because of the nature of this mission and the specific skills and activities involved, it is only suitable for children aged 11 and above. If you have any questions or would like to discuss whether it’s right for your child, please feel free to call or email the team - we’ll be very happy to advise.
FACILITATION
This mission is delivered by facilitators experienced in cooking with children, with a professional and educational background. We operate an overall ratio of between 1:8 and 1:10 in our camps. All facilitators are DBS and reference checked; all undergo The Hive in-house safeguarding training. Sites include fully qualified First Aiders.
MISSION DURATION
Four-day mission with the flexibility to book 1 - 4 days.
DAILY TIMES
The mission runs from 9.30am to 4pm.
Extended care is also available from 8.30am to 6pm - an additional charge applies.
END OF MISSION SHOWCASE
All Hive missions finish with an exhibition, showcase or performance for parents. The format depends on each particular mission. We usually ask parents to arrive between 15 and 30 minutes early to get the most out of the showcases.
