As part of our Social Enterprise mission, we do all we can to make our programmes accessible to as many children as possible. 15% of children attending The Hive benefit from scholarships, amounting to 25% – 70% of mission costs.
The Hive tries hard to offer as many scholarships as possible, but these are self-funded and unfortunately, we can’t offer scholarships to everyone. To be in with a chance of securing one, parents must be able to prove their financial hardship. The assistance awarded is dependent on the criteria detailed below. If selected, you may be awarded specific mission dates.
HOW SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED
Scholarship applications are assessed against 4 criteria:
- Diversity: scholarships are intended to broaden the diversity of life experiences of campers taking part in The Hive.
- Economic need: we consider family size, income, and/or extenuating circumstances when making awards. You will need to provide proof of hardship.
- Motivation: a written statement from campers and their parents helps us assess motivation during our review process.
- Funding: awards are made based on the availability of scholarship funds.
