With the support of your Lead, you’ll have 5 days to build and run a fully functioning survival camp. You’ll have to make your own tools, you’ll have to build your shelter, you’ll have to light and maintain your fire, you’ll have to forage and you’ll have to defend your camp.
By the end of the course, you will be expected to display a good level of self-reliance in nature, including navigation, tool use, foraging, fire making, ropes and knots, camouflage and survival in hostile environments. Working as a team, building on each other’s strengths and learning from one another, have you got what it takes?
This mission is currently being developed. The full itinerary will be available in December 2024.
TYPE OF MISSION
Bushcraft
RECOMMENDED AGE RANGE
8 - 11 (Years 4 - 6). Because of the nature of this mission and the specific skills and activities involved, it is only suitable for children 8 or older. FACILITATION
Both Lead and Support Facilitators on this type of mission are Bushcraft Professionals with Forest School experience. We operate an overall ratio of 1:8 in our camps. All facilitators are DBS and reference checked; all undergo The Hive in-house safeguarding training. Sites include several fully qualified First Aiders.
MISSION DURATION
Five-day mission with the flexibility to book 1 - 5 days.
DAILY TIMES
The mission runs from 9.30am to 4pm.
Extended care is also available from 8.30am to 6pm - an additional charge applies.
END OF MISSION SHOWCASE
All Hive missions finish with an exhibition, showcase or performance for parents.The format depends on each particular mission. We usually ask parents to arrive between 15 and 30 minutes early to get the most out of the showcases.

HIVE T-SHIRT
