On this mission, we’re tumbling down a rabbit hole to the fantastically mad and enchanting world that is Wonderland! Rabbits appear and disappear. Caterpillars turn into Cheshire cats, eating cake makes you a giant, tears turn into seas, trees have secret doors, croquet sets are made of flamingos and hedgehogs, and playing cards come in full body armour….
Your brief? Bring Wonderland to life! How will you shrink Alice? How will you make the Cheshire cat appear and disappear? You’ll have one week to master stage trickery, illusion and magic. Using canvas, wood, paint, fabrics, paper, cardboard, natural materials and learning lots of stage effects, your job will be to plan, design and create a set that convinces your audience that they have truly stepped into Wonderland!
As a member of the Down The Rabbit Hole Production Team, you’ll have to think on your feet, be one of the team, keep your wits about you and be ready at the drop of a (mad hatter) hat! There will be plenty of opportunities for stage effects, dizzying perspectives, magical scenery, set mechanics and crazy costumes & props.
The mission will culminate with an exciting immersive performance of Down The Rabbit Hole on the last day in front of a select parent audience, where the children will play a key role both front of house (ushers, documenters, narrators) and backstage (stage management, costume changes).
Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.
