This mission is magical: it reveals the secret of enchanted miniature gardens and how they come to life!
You’ll start by picking the best home for your garden. You’ll have to think about where your garden will live: inside or outside? You’ll have to work out how big you’d like it to be and what soil it will need. You’ll need to decide how you will water it. Will it be a fairy garden? A jungle full of creepy crawlies? A seaside sanctuary for mermaids? Or a busy farm full of animals?
Then it will be time to get planting and building! You’ll have to go foraging for wood, moss, leaves, interesting stones and beautiful shells. And you’ll need to go shopping at Pixie Central, our miniworld DIY store and plant nursery.
And this is when the magic will happen…
Once your miniature gardens are ready, they will become the set of your very own film. Using plasticine, you’ll create some exciting characters to inhabit your world and go on adventures. Working with a stop-motion animator, you’ll learn how to storyboard, film and edit your adventures for a great movie to take home!
On the last day of the mission, parents will be invited to a short display and ‘have a go’ session delivered by the children.
All the children taking part will get to take the garden they created home at the end of the mission.
Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.
