The Woodland Bookshop was carved into the trunk of the ancient oak tree almost 500 years ago by Mr. Babblebrook, who has looked after its tomes ever since. It’s now become known as one of the most magical places on Earth. Storytellers from all over the world venture there to finish their stories - tales of knights battling great dragons, genies granting wishes, pirates braving the seas, it can all be found at The Woodland Bookshop. Until… one night, just ten days ago, a monstrous storm tore through The Woodland. Trees were split, branches crushed and The Woodland Bookshop was torn to pieces - pages were ripped from their spines, books flung in every direction and the stories ruined. Mr. Babblebrook was devastated. He’d successfully looked after the bookshop for hundreds of years and now his life’s work was nothing more than torn pages and broken twigs.
Word has reached Hive HQ and we’re worried that Mr. Babblebrook will lose his love of storytelling FOREVER! This week’s mission is to develop your own stories and story dens to share with the bookshop owner to help him fall back in love with stories. What would your story be about? Goblins? Trees? Starfish? Where would you set it? In a jungle? On a mountain? In outer space? But it’s not just about making stories, it’s also about atmosphere! We’ll build dens and light campfires to create that perfect story-telling setting to really inspire us! It’s time to get confident with your creativity and boost those outdoor skills to inspire Mr. Babblebrook once more! What are you waiting for?!

Please note that our daily itinerary is a guide, and some activities may need to be changed or rescheduled when circumstances occasionally make it difficult for us to run them, including poor weather. We’ll always do our best to offer enjoyable alternatives and, wherever possible, run the planned activity on an alternative day.
