Part live game, part immersive theatre, part treasure hunt, this thrilling mission is in your hands, for extreme suspense and adventure. Not only will you have to embrace your inner Bear Grylls, you’ll also have to prove yourself as a game designer and performer to create, direct and bring to life a re-telling of Treasure Island like no other. You’ll design the ultimate experience, as you learn how to turn RPG gaming mechanics into an interactive live performance. You’ll challenge your creative writing skills by incorporating player’s choices into your scripts of courage, adventure, fortune and greed. You’ll seek to capture this stark world of secrets and betrayal, by building sets, designing soundscapes and developing characters.

TYPE OF MISSION
RECOMMENDED AGE RANGE
11 - 13 (Years 7 - 8). This mission is only open to children who have completed Year 6 and are ready to start senior school. Unfortunately we're not able to welcome younger children.
Both Lead and Support Facilitators on this type of mission are Makers & Performers with experience of delivering such projects with teens in the outdoors. Parents always receive a full list of facilitators a week of so before the start of camp. We operate an overall ratio of 1:8 in our camps. All facilitators are DBS and reference checked; all undergo The Hive in-house safeguarding training. Sites include several fully qualified First Aiders.
Five day mission with the flexibility to book as little as 2 days or as much as 5 days. If you are only booking 2 days, we suggest choosing the beginning of the week to help the children truly experience the developing project.
The mission runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Extended care is also available from 8.30am to 6pm - an additional charge applies.
END OF MISSION SHOWCASE
All Hive missions finish with an exhibition, showcase or performance for parents.The format depends on each particular mission. We usually ask parents to arrive between 15 and 30 minutes early to get the most out of the showcases.
