Is it yours too? On this mission, you will get to design and craft your very own bow and arrows like a traditional archer. And then you’ll get to test them with a mix of target practice and distance practice!
First you’ll learn about the woods that can be used, you’ll look at different types of bows through history, you’ll explore bow design techniques and factors effecting bow efficiency. Then the bow making will begin: you’ll choose your timber and start carving, you’ll learn about tillering and string construction before moving onto arrow design, assembling and fletching.
The workshop will conclude with an exciting archery training session, where you’ll get to practice different techniques before a final team competition!
A COMPLETE AND EXCITING MAKING JOURNEY FROM RESEARCH THROUGH TO DESIGN, BUILDING, TESTING AND COMPETING, ALL IN THE OUTDOORS!
