They hold the secret to jungle survival. They know how to build shelters in the tamarind trees, how to make complex bridges from bamboo stalks, how to craft armours using coconut shells, how to catch fish with a four-pronged spear, how to start fires using wild bamboo sticks, and how to cook the most delicious rujak using fruit from the rainforest!
We couldn’t believe our luck when Stuart, who is The Hive’s Bushcrafter-In-Chief, decided to go on an adventure in the Balinese rainforest to learn all that is unique about jungle bushcraft. He met some pretty amazing people there and loved his time so much that he’s developed this unique mission to share all that he’s learnt! Under his guidance, you‘ll have a go at building a bamboo frame shelter, you’ll get to cook rice cakes and fish in banana leaves, you’ll learn how to make and use jungle spears and how to start a fire using bamboo friction. You’ll discover the techniques that forest people use to stalk prey and clean water. The mission will conclude with a showcase to parents and Indonesian banana fritters around the fire!
