Do you know that you can bake awesome bread and muffins in an earth oven? Have you ever been foraging for brambles? And have you tried fried insects dipped in chocolate sauce?? Delicious!!
Over the course of two days, you’ll learn all about foraging and wild cooking. You’ll get to build and use your own outdoor oven, bake breads and puddings, make biscuits, jams and juices. You’ll also learn about cooking over an open fire and using Kelly kettles.
You’ll complete the mission by writing and publishing your very own wild recipe book and opening an exciting pop-up restaurant to welcome your families!

RECOMMENDED AGE RANGE
8 - 11 (Years 4 - 6). Because of the nature of this mission and the specific skills and activities involved, it is only suitable for children 8 or older. Both Lead and Support Facilitators on this type of mission are Bushcraft Professionals with Forest School experience. Parents always receive a full list of facilitators a week of so before the start of camp. We operate an overall ratio of 1:8 in our camps. All facilitators are DBS and reference checked; all undergo The Hive in-house safeguarding training. Sites include several fully qualified First Aiders.

9.30am - 4.30pm (extended care is also available from 8.30am to 6pm - an additional charge applies).
END OF MISSION SHOWCASE
All Hive missions finish with an exhibition, showcase or performance for parents.The format depends on each particular mission. We usually ask parents to arrive between 15 and 30 minutes early to get the most out of the showcases.
