The Hive's approach focuses on innovative ways to engage pupils in Forest School in more urban environments where access to outdoor space is constrained.
Our Taster Sessions are designed to give participants a taste of the richness and creativity of Forest School learning, particularly in more urban settings. They offer an opportunity to meet your trainer, explore our training venue and get a better understanding of what Forest School training entails.
They are open to teachers, trainee teachers, NQTs, nursery teams, youth workers, parents and anyone wanting to find out more about Forest School and/or considering embarking on Forest School Assistant or Leader training.
The sessions offer an opportunity to meet your trainer, explore our training venue and get a better understanding of what Forest School training entails. The day is split into 4 sessions:
All sessions run from 10am to 2pm
Taster Sessions are led by Gemma Hindi.
Gemma is a highly experienced Level 3 Forest School Leader, who also holds an MSc in Environment Science & Society. She has over 10 years’ experience of delivering Forest School. She has delivered sessions for early years, primary schools, SEND schools and children, home education & youth groups, families and community events. She’s also delivered countless training programmes for a range of adult groups, such as school teachers, TAs, nursery teams, parents and volunteers. When Gemma is not delivering Forest School sessions and training, she is a eco schools assessor who has advised and supported school teachers on how to achieve Green Flag status.
The sessions can be held at our venue - Stavehill Park - or at your own venue.
