Few people are as tough as the Vikings. For a Norseman or Norsewoman, spending time outdoors isn’t optional. It is a matter of life or death! To survive, they have to master a long list of skills: they are talented woodsmen, archers with the greatest dexterity, champion boat makers, gifted trappers and resourceful tradesmen. Their bushcraft knowledge is second to none.
On this mission, you’ll get to follow in Eirik’s footsteps to master survival, the Viking way. Over the course of the week, you’ll learn how to start a fire with Chaga fungus, you’ll build an A-Frame Viking tent, you’ll carve your own wooden dagger and discover all about the Norseman flat bow. As your skills grow, you’ll have a go at building a longship and get to experiment with Viking soap made out of conkers. You’ll face challenges along the way and will have to become quite the expert at Knattleikr, the popular Viking ball game, to solve them.
Do you speak Norse by the way? It may come in handy! The mission will conclude with a Viking feast, where you’ll celebrate your achievements by making - and sampling - your own venison sausages, fladbrφd and honey mead around the fire! Are you ready to unleash your inner Viking?
This mission is currently in development.
